Richard Chen received a B.S. degree in electrical engineering and an M.S. degree in communication engineering (electromagnetics group) from the National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan, in 2008 and 2010, respectively. He is currently working toward a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering at theUniversity of Southern California. From 2010 to 2012, he was with the Research Center for Information Technology Innovation at Academia Sinica, Taipei, Taiwan, as a research assistant on MIMO detection schemes and multicast HARQ protocols. His research interests include electromagnetic scattering from multilayer rough surfaces and the design and analysis of antenna miniaturization.
